Class of 2027: What to Expect From Your Senior Portrait Session in Northeast Ohio
Hey there! I once had a senior arrive for portraits looking like she’d rather be anywhere else. She was nervous about posing, worried she’d feel awkward, and convinced she wasn’t “photogenic.” About ten minutes in, we were laughing, walking, and telling stories: and by the end of the session, she didn’t want it to stop.
That’s exactly what I want for every Class of 2027 senior. Your session shouldn’t feel stiff or overly planned. It should feel like a fun afternoon that happens to result in beautiful photographs you’ll want to keep.
We’ll choose locations that feel like you
When we plan your senior portraits, I’ll help you choose a location that matches your personality and the kind of images you’re imagining. For a city feel, Cleveland offers textured brick, downtown streets, bridges, lakefront views, and plenty of architecture that gives your gallery a modern, editorial look.
If you’re closer to the east side, Ashtabula Harbor is one of my favorite places for senior portraits in Ashtabula. The lift bridge, waterfront, and working-harbor atmosphere create images that feel connected to Northeast Ohio while still being completely personal to you.
Bring outfits that show your personality
Most seniors bring a few different looks so their gallery has variety. You might choose a casual outfit that feels like your everyday style, something dressier, and another look connected to a sport, hobby, musical instrument, or future plans.
You don’t need to buy an entirely new wardrobe. Start with pieces you already love wearing, then add layers or accessories that make each outfit feel finished. I’m always happy to help you think through colors, textures, and what will photograph best at your chosen locations.
Expect a relaxed, candid experience
I won’t expect you to know exactly what to do with your hands or how to pose. I’ll give you simple direction, keep us moving, and look for the moments when your real personality comes through.
Some of my favorite images happen between poses: when you’re walking, laughing at something your parent said, fixing your jacket, or looking away for a second. That relaxed approach is what makes Northeast Ohio senior portraits feel authentic instead of forced.
Why booking early matters
Fall is one of the busiest times of year for senior portraits Cleveland families plan, especially when everyone wants colorful trees and comfortable weather. September and October dates can disappear quickly, and evenings and weekends are usually the first to fill.
Booking early gives you more choices for your date, location, outfits, and the look you want. If you’re ready to start planning, take a look at my Portraits page, or Contact me to talk through your session.
And if you’re planning ahead for more milestones, you can also explore my Wedding Photography experience. I’d love to help you celebrate this next chapter with photographs that feel unmistakably you.
